You attended a program or saw something in the news and got inspired to take action. But then, when you returned to daily life, you started to lose steam. You saw something new was possible (and it was), but out of context, it started to feel harder.
It makes sense. Your brain in the program is different from your brain in daily life. Both resolve and focus start to slip.
In the Make It Real Club, we solve both these problems. We restore your resolve through Collective Grief Grounding, and we keep you focused on action through hands-on co-working sessions.Â
We kick off each meeting with collective grief grounding, checking in on how we are feeling about the state of the world, acknowledging our pain, and metabolizing it into grounded resolve, so that you can be working from a clear head and heart.Â
Then we get into the coworking. We each declare intentions and work in parallel, do you just actually get things done that you’ve been thinking about. Â
The most supportive thing is the context and the community. You’re doing this surrounded by people who are also working on bringing love and power to creating a world where everyone is safe, valued and free. People who are also grounding their resistance, people who care about the same things, but who also care about doing them in a grounded way.
We did something like this in the Gaza Effectiveness Accelerator, and people got stuff done. Tanya got her podcast started. Sydney got her antiracist group having a conversation about Israel Palestine.
These are the two baseline tools I use to keep my work effective. Whenever I do coworking, I get so much done, and whenever I ground my grief, I feel cleaner, clearer, stronger, more resolute. You need both.
